About Me
Before becoming Mayor Nikko of Bago City, I was simply known as Nicholas Miraflores Yulo. A son, brother, and husband. I was born on December 6, 1960, the middle child among six children born to Atty. Arsenio “Buc-an” Yulo Jr. and Letty Miraflores-Yulo.
My journey toward leadership was rooted early in my youth. I was a student leader in college, having been elected as Speaker of the Adamson University Student Parliament.
After earning my AB Economics degree from Adamson University in Manila, one of my first jobs was as Congressional Staff of the then Congresswoman Nikki Coseteng.
I did not come from a political background, but I grew up in a politically aware household. My father was a lawyer and served on the city council for two terms from 1964 to 1969. He was also the previous administrator of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA). My family, on the other hand, played an important role in encouraging me to pursue a career as a public servant.
My political career began with one term as Bago City Councilor (2004-2007), followed by three terms as Vice Mayor (2007-2016). These experiences equipped me with the knowledge and insight for a natural political advancement as Mayor of Bago City, where I am currently serving my third term.
